Role Description
- This is a full-time, on-site role for a Hotel Chief Engineer located at Pwani Mchangani, North Zanzibar. The Chief Engineer will oversee the maintenance and repair of all hotel systems and facilities, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and other equipment. Responsibilities include developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs, supervising the engineering team, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and assisting with managing energy consumption to optimize efficiency and sustainability.
- This role also requires troubleshooting and resolving technical issues promptly to ensure smooth hotel operations and guest satisfaction.

- Strong knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing systems
- Experience with HVAC systems and other building equipment
- Skills in Preventive Maintenance and troubleshooting technical issues
- Capability to lead, train, and manage an engineering team
- Understanding of safety and regulatory compliance standards
- Proficiency in energy management and sustainability practices
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred
- Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is highly desirable
