Description
- Looking to recruit a Driver Trainer for Heavy Commercial Vehicles. The primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive training and instruction to company drivers to enhance their skills in operating heavy commercial vehicles.
- This role is to ensure that drivers are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to safely and efficiently operate these vehicles.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducting training sessions:
- Delivering classroom and practical training sessions to drivers, covering topics such as vehicle operation, safety procedures, defensive driving techniques, and compliance with relevant regulations.
Practical instruction:
- Providing hands-on training to drivers, including vehicle inspections, manoeuvring, and driving in various road and weather conditions.
Safety and compliance:
- Ensuring that drivers are aware of and adhere to safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies related to the operation of heavy commercial vehicles.
Evaluating driver performance:
- Assessing drivers' skills and performance through practical tests, written exams, and observation, and providing constructive feedback to help them improve.
Developing training materials:
- Creating and updating training materials, manuals, and resources to ensure that the training program remains current and effective.
Keeping records:
- Maintaining accurate records of training sessions, driver progress, and any required documentation for compliance purposes.
Staying updated:
- Keeping abreast of industry trends, changes in regulations, and advancements in vehicle technology to provide up-to-date training.
Other Requirements
REQUIREMENT:
- Valid commercial driver's license
- Extensive experience and expertise in operating heavy commercial vehicles.
- Previous experience as a driver trainer or instructor for heavy commercial vehicles is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, traffic laws, and best practices for heavy commercial vehicle operation.
- Excellent communication and instructional skills to effectively convey information and train drivers.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to provide constructive feedback.
- Patience and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and evenings.
