Main Duties
Job Purpose
- The HR – Compliance and Benefits Manager is responsible for ensuring that the organization adheres to all employment laws, regulations, and internal policies while managing employee compensation and benefits programs. The role ensures that the company maintains a compliant, equitable, and engaging work environment that supports business objectives and employee well-being.
Key Responsibilities
HR Compliance
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, health and safety standards, and company policies.
- Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures to align with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Conduct regular HR audits to ensure adherence to statutory and company standards.
- Maintain and monitor employee records and HR documentation in compliance with data protection regulations.
- Advise management on employment law changes and their potential impact on operations.
- Liaise with government agencies, auditors, and legal counsel regarding labor issues, inspections, and compliance matters.
Compensation and Benefits Administration
- Design, implement, and manage employee compensation and benefits programs in alignment with company strategy and budget.
- Oversee payroll processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
- Manage statutory deductions and contributions (e.g., PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, Workers Compensation, etc.) to ensure timely remittance.
- Evaluate and benchmark compensation structures to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity.
- Administer employee insurance, pension, medical, and wellness programs.
- Manage annual salary reviews, bonuses, and incentive programs.
Employee Relations and Engagement
- Support fair and transparent employee relations practices to maintain a positive work environment.
- Advise managers on disciplinary and grievance procedures to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Conduct internal investigations related to misconduct, ethics violations, or policy breaches.
- Promote awareness and training on compliance and ethical conduct.
Reporting and Analytics
- Prepare periodic HR compliance and benefits reports for management review.
- Track HR metrics such as absenteeism, turnover, payroll costs, and benefit utilization to support decision-making.
- Provide recommendations to improve HR systems, benefits efficiency, and employee satisfaction.
Continuous Improvement
- Keep abreast of new HR trends, labor legislation, and best practices in compliance and compensation management.
- Drive process improvement and automation of HR compliance and benefits systems.
Other Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in HR compliance, compensation, and benefits management preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of employment laws, labor relations, and statutory compliance in Tanzania.
- Competent in Excel.
- Proficient in HRIS and payroll management systems
