Main Duties
Risk assessment and mitigation
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for all transport operations, identifying potential hazards and developing preventive measures.
- Analyze accident data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
Safety inspections and audits:
- Regularly inspect vehicles, including tires, brakes, lights, and documentation to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Perform workplace inspections to identify unsafe practices and environmental concerns.
Driver training and education:
- Deliver safety training programs for drivers on topics such as defensive driving, fatigue management, and emergency procedures.
- Monitor driver behavior and address any safety concerns.
Accident investigation:
- Thoroughly investigate all accidents and near misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Prepare detailed reports on accidents and identify areas for improvement.
Policy development and implementation:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive HSE policies and procedures aligned with industry standards and legal requirements.
- Ensure effective communication and enforcement of safety policies across the transport operation.
Compliance management:
- Stay updated on relevant transport safety regulations and ensure the company adheres to all legal requirements.
- Maintain necessary documentation to demonstrate compliance with safety standards.
Environmental awareness:
- Promote environmentally responsible practices within the fleet, including fuel efficiency measures and waste management.
- Monitor potential environmental impacts of transportation operations.
Other Requirements
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, Safety Management, or related fields
- 3+ years transportation safety management experience is required
- Ability to work under pressure, as a team and independently;
- Positive attitude and able to challenge objectively with a ‘can do’ attitude;
- Trustworthy and of high moral integrity.
- Willingness to learn new skills in the field of road safety
- Highly organized, rational and able to make decisions
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Experience of multi-functional operations
