Main Duties

Job Scope

• Operate Main pot and pre melt pot.
• Charging crane operation.

Primary Tasks

• AlSi and Zn Metal charging in pre melt as per ration assigned by production engineer.
• Recording AlSi and Zn metal charging in a shift to the logbook.
• Bubbling of inductor and cleaning of launder
• Execute housekeeping in line with Kaizen principles.
• Do autonomous maintenance activities.
• Implement continuous improvement activities.
• Adherence to safe work practices and good housekeeping.
• Inspection of inductors and report machine malfunction.
• Removal of bottom and top dross
• Removal of metal scrap.
• Reporting of operating parameters.

Responsibility for Physical Assets

• Making sure that main pot, pre melt and Accessories are in good condition.

Working Conditions

• The working environment requires that the Pot Operator and all his/her Team wear PPEs all the time for safety reasons.

Other Requirements

Qualification

• Form four, Diploma/FTC in Engineering (Production, Chemical, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 2 years’ working experience of relevant work.
• Experience in working in a manufacturing environment.
• Good command of Kiswahili languages and English as an added advantage.
• Ability to be respectful, fast paced and prompt.

• Have a positive outlook with enthusiasm and good energy.
• Ability to be fast paced, self-motivated and prompt.
• Effective team player with excellent interpersonal relationship skills
