Job Summary:
- We are looking for a proactive and experienced Full-Stack Software Developer with strong expertise in Code Igniter to take over and lead the continuation of an ongoing web development project.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and coding skills, be comfortable working with existing codebases, and be capable of assessing, debugging, and enhancing existing systems while ensuring continuity and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of an existing Code Igniter-based web application, understanding its architecture, code structure, and functionality.
- Perform a comprehensive code review to identify areas for optimization, documentation gaps, or technical debt.
- Maintain, update, and improve existing features while developing new components as needed.
- Collaborate with product owners, designers, and stakeholders to align technical direction with business objectives.
- Troubleshoot bugs and performance issues with a focus on delivering timely fixes and improvements.
- Ensure smooth handover transition and maintain clear documentation for ongoing project continuity.
- Implement security best practices and optimize the application for performance and scalability.
- Manage database updates, API integrations, and third-party service connections.
- Participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, standups) and contribute to release planning.
Other Requirements
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Code Igniter and PHP development.
- Strong front-end development skills: React.js, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and responsive UI development.
- Solid understanding of MySQL or similar relational databases.
- Experience working with RESTful APIs, AJAX, and third-party integrations.
- Proficient with version control systems like Git.
- Proven experience taking over and successfully delivering ongoing or legacy projects.
Preferred (Bonus) Skills:
- Experience with other PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony).
- Familiarity with front-end libraries/frameworks (React.js, Vue.js).
- Working knowledge of server setup and deployment (Linux, cPanel, SSH).
- Experience with SaaS-based or multi-tenant systems.
- Understanding of project management tools (Trello, Jira, ClickUp).
