Main Duties
Role Summary:
- Seeking a highly driven and technically skilled Project Manager to take charge of all Plumbing and Firefighting projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, leadership qualities, and the ability to manage teams and projects independently. This person will report directly to the Managing Director and will be responsible for ensuring that all ongoing and upcoming works are executed efficiently, without delays or blockages.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Execution & Coordination
- Manage day-to-day activities on all active plumbing and firefighting project sites.
- Ensure smooth progress of work, proactively remove bottlenecks, and maintain momentum on all projects.
- Review drawings, coordinate site teams, and enforce standards of execution.
Team Leadership & Oversight
- Lead, manage, and guide site teams, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Allocate resources effectively and foster a culture of performance and accountability.
- Act as the go-to leader for all site-related matters.
Reporting & Systems
- Utilize digital tools to track project progress, generate status reports, and flag issues in real-time.
- Work with the company’s project management software and systems to maintain records and updates.
- Provide concise, actionable reports directly to the Managing Director.
Client & Internal Communication
- Liaise with internal teams, clients, and consultants where needed.
- Ensure professional communication and alignment on work plans, timelines, and site requirements.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all works are done in compliance with standards, codes, and safety regulations.
- Support and implement QA/QC protocols and ensure quality inspections are conducted as needed.
Other Requirements
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of site experience in plumbing and/or firefighting projects.
- Proven team leadership and site management experience.
- Ability to read and interpret construction/shop drawings and specifications.
- Strong technical and digital literacy – must be able to work with project tracking and reporting software.
- Valid driving license and ability to travel to multiple sites.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), email communication, and reporting tools.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); knowledge of Swahili is an advantage.
